Lawn Services

We Make You & Nature Smile

Homeowners are increasingly using lawn services to help insure the beauty and value of their lawns and landscape. But the increased weight of those mowing machines – plus the weight of the rider – goes a long way toward compacting your soil and keeping air, water and vital nutrients from reaching the root zone of your grass.

That’s where aeration comes in. Aeration is the removal of small cores of soil which helps to mitigate compacted soil and allows air, moisture and nutrients down to the root zone. A yearly core aeration is included with our Estate Program.

Inspections are vital to deliver optimum results. Any program less than our 5-treatment program will not
have this guarantee.

Our Estate Program includes 6 visit per year; it offers the same services as our Premier Program, plus a core aeration.

Broadleaf Weed Control & Crabgrass Prevention

There are literally dozens – perhaps a hundred or more – species of broadleaf “weeds”. But what really is a weed? It is “a wild plant growing where it is not wanted and in competition with cultivated plants”. And from Wikipedia: A weed is a plant considered undesirable in a particular situation, “a plant in the wrong place”.

As pretty as some might be, perhaps you don’t want them in your garden, flower bed, or, in your particular case, you just don’t want them in your lawn! The most common weeds are crabgrass, dandelions, chickweed, plantain, clover, nutsedge and thistle (among many others). Some weeds germinate in the spring, some in the summer and some in the fall.

Weed control programs involve pre-emergent treatments that will help reduce the sprouting of spring weed seeds (like crabgrass) from germinating. Post-emergent applications will help control pervasive weeds during the summer months. Contact treatments are made when broadleaf weeds are actively growing.

Our broadleaf weed control will clear out more than 50 common lawn weeds, including some of the tougher ones like dandelion, plantain and clover. The professionals at Pro-Care know what time is best to eradicate a particular type of weed. So leave it to us. We’ll keep your lawn green, beautiful and weed-free for the entire growing season!

Insect Control

Every year, grubs and other insects cause severe and devastating damage to lawns. Nothing wreaks havoc on your lawn like an army of grubs. (See White Grubs on the FAQs page.)

Protect your lawn from these damaging pests through a properly supervised Pro-Care program designed to reduce infestations. Unlike other companies, Pro-Care’s treatment covers both grubs and surface-feeding insects.

A low-toxicity insecticide applied once per year will give you season-long protection. We will treat for chinch bugs, sod webworms, armyworms and other damaging insects throughout the year.

Our full insect treatment also offers 30-45 days of flea and tick control.

White Grubs

Grubs can be devastating not only in the damage they can do, but also the damage from the predators that are attracted to them. Grubs are a favorite food source for skunks, raccoons and crows. No matter the species, they can really wreak havoc on a lawn!

Our grub treatments begin around the second week of June and continue into the last week of July. This one treatment will give you season-long protection and the assurance that your lawn will not be attacked by grubs. The key to a healthy and great-looking lawn is prevention rather than damage replacement. Please contact us to schedule your grub treatment today!

Disease Control

The best way to prevent disease is to keep your lawn healthy through proper watering, mowing at the correct height and through regular fertilization. (See Lawn Height on the FAQs page.)
