Pest Control

What are Pests?

Miriam Webster would define a pest as “one that pesters or annoys: a nuisance.” They could be of either plant or animal in origin, but certainly can be detrimental to humans or human concerns.

You likely have heard friends and neighbors talking about finding critters like ants, spiders, crickets, centipedes, millipedes, silverfish, earwigs, boxelder bugs, stink bugs, Asian lady beetles and myriad other multi-legged insects that have invaded their homes. These pests generally stay outside… But the foundation of your home – as well as windows, doors, siding, etc., because of its surrounding shrubs and bushes, provides a perfect place for a new ”home” for these insect pests as their population grows. Cracks and crevices allow easy access and the inside of your home provides the necessary amenities like food, water, warmth and protection from predators to help populations thrive.

Environmentally Sensitive

Pro-Care practices Integrated Pest Management (IPM), an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management. Utilizing structural and biological strategies, we’re better able to control a wide variety of pest related problems.

Our IPM programs use current, comprehensive information about the life cycles of pests that, in combination with available pest control methods, are used to best manage pest damage by the most economical means, and with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment.

Perimeter Pest Control

You already know that Pro-Care works hard to keep your lawns, trees and shrubs free from weeds, disease and insect pests. But perhaps you didn’t know that your Pro-Care professional is also trained and licensed to apply Perimeter Pest Control products that will keep pests from entering your home.

What is "Perimeter Pest Control"?

Simply put, Perimeter Pest Control is an outside-the-home layer of protection that provides an invisible barrier designed to keep unwanted insect pests from entering your home and foundation in the first place. It is a band of treatment of insect control sprayed around the base/foundation of your home. No chemicals are applied inside of your home – you don’t even have to be home at the time of application – making the process safe and easy, keeping your home free of those unwanted infestations and those crawling pests.

Why do I need Perimeter Pest Control?

Not only are many insects offensive-looking, they can cause damage to your home and your belongings (silverfish are quite fond of cotton and linen) and some – like centipedes – can bite and inject a poison that causes an allergic reaction. And spiders? Well, most aren’t at all dangerous but that doesn’t stop them from giving us the creeps! Not good.

So why not stop the infestation before it starts? Our service is guaranteed and administered by licensed professionals. To schedule a time for a professional to take care of the crawling creatures around your yard, contact your neighborhood Pro-Care Lawn Service professional today.

These guys are the best. Knowledgeable and helpful to make your yard as good as it can be.
